Grateful On Easter

Instead of focusing on the miracle of Christ's resurrection,
I'm going to focus on the miracles Christ is working currently in my life.

His resurrection was truly a miracle.
But He's not done working miracles.
He and Heavenly Father will never cease to amaze me.

Back when I was at USU, I took chem 1110,
but their curriculum didn't include the 1115 lab.
My teacher just did experiments in class, and class was 4 days a week.
After getting accepted to the nursing program down here,
I noticed a paper saying I needed 1110 and 1115.
I knew I didn't have that chem 1115 class, and I figured I'd have to take it
over summer, down at SLCC.
I checked with the director, and she confirmed my fear.
But then I checked with the soon-to-be director,
mostly because I needed to know the summer semester schedule
so I could schedule my lab with SLCC.
She gave me this confused look when I told her my situation,
and said she'd get back to me on the 1115 class.
Guess what, ya'll that USU prefix saved me.
I don't have to take chem lab over the summer!

On Friday, I took a computer test that determines
the possibility of passing the NCLEX-PN
(PN is practical nurse, btw)
I had been stressing about it all week.
My practice test's result was horrid.
But the results of the actual test?
97% pass rate!
AKA: It's almost guaranteed I'm going to pass!

Hope you're having a good Easter Sunday.

Pondering My Future

I've decided that every month I'm going to answer the same questions for the 2 years I'm earning my R.N. I thought this would be a fun way to get me through nursing school, so here goes!

1. What have you thought about most today?
If I'm ready for the NCLEX
2. What did you learn about today in class?
Test taking skills for the NCLEX
3. What was your most recent test on?
Respiratory diseases and how to care for the patient
4. What is your next test on?
The PN predictor test (to tell me my chances of passing the NCLEX) (I see a theme here)
5. What was the best part of today?
Getting to sleep past 5 AM
6. What are you stressed about?
This predictor test! What if it tells me I'm doomed to fail?!
7. What/ who do you miss right now?
        The Magic Kingdom
8. What did you have for dinner today?
Haven't had dinner yet. I had Coco Krispies for breakfast though
9. If you could go anywhere right now, where would it be?
10. What field do you want to work in?
        Pediatric med/surg or emergency room

positive thinking

My nclex-pn exam is coming up soon.

holy crap I don't feel prepared.

We will be starting the application to test process soon, and I expect to take the test sometime in late June.

In 2 months I could be an official licensed practical nurse!

Oh. My. Gosh.

Spring Breaking

Spring break has sprung!

Friday night I slept over with Leslie in Provo, then went scrapbooking with my mom on Saturday. The week at home was nice, Dad and I grabbed lunch on Friday at the Cheesecake Factory, and Dana retouched my hair color. Saturday I spent the day at Brianna's for her bridal shower, then drove to Provo to sleep over at Leslie's again. In true Leslie and Courtney fashion, we ate a ton of fantastic food (I wish Price had the quality of food Provo has).
It seems to be a trend whenever I go home that I eat a lot.

We found legitimate Pineapple Dole Whip in Provo, just like the sweet cool treat we got occasionally at the Magic Kingdom in Florida! It was a walk down memory lane.

We ate breakfast at the Awful Waffle, which is conveniently located close to Leslie's house. It was so good, we didn't even get pictures of our waffles untouched. We did manage to snap pics of our Nutella hot chocolate though!

The second sleepover, we grabbed Pizza at The Slab for dinner. Look how huge the serving size was! It was honestly 1/4 of a large pizza. I got the barbecue chicken pizza, and it was amazing!

I guess I should call this post Spring Eating.
